Abstract

The modern Armed Forces are a complex system, that includes a large number of sub-systems, the functioning of which is determined by a high variety of processes, that allow to achieve its purpose of its functioning with the appropriate effectiveness. This creates the issue of conducting the research of functioning of the Armed Forces under different conditions that could appear in the course of combat activities (operations). The knowledge on functioning of the Armed Forces under the different conditions of the operative-tactical circumstances will allow the officers of the bodies of military command to take deliberate decisions to conduct combat activities (operations). The system of decision-making support play a crucial role whilst solving the issues of governing complex combat activities (operations), processes and systems at the different levels of processing information. The aerial systems of decision making support are developed with the use of GIS-technologies. The GIS- is a program device complex, designed to collect, govern, analyze and reflect the territorially-divided information, GIS carry out the support of data bases that has been developed to effectively organize the memory of aerial data. Also, the GIS-software provides the support between the users interface and the data base, therefore the user could send requests and analyze the aerial data. The development and the improvement of the GIS software have created the possibility to practically implement the software in order to build and develop an aerial decision-making support system. An example of such type of software is the GIS Arcinfo8 of the ESRI enterprise. Archinfo is designed to assist the users in conducting requests and see the aerial data. Another widely used product of mapping reflection is the Mapinfo. Thus, the decision-making support system as well as the system for supporting the decisions choice, provide the necessary information to the individual responsible for the decision making process, both personally and collective. In the meantime the data can be received from the personal database as well as other data bases. The effectiveness of using the system of decision-making support is first and foremost predetermined by the capability of the individual that is making the decision to scrutinize a high variety of alternatives, whilst using the model in the course of the analyses of information, developing different alternatives and their assessment in accordance with the chosen criteria, as well as the assessment of the consequences of the decisions made.
